The Cloyne Report at Exchange Street Dublin
The Cloyne Report into clerical child abuse (released in July 2011) is displayed in Temple Bar Dublin. The responsability for children rests with all adults. We neglect this at their peril. In order to acknowledge just what it was that happened in our society the present installation at Exchange Street, Temple Bar, is there to remind us of the horrendous acts of cruel and inhumane treatment that were perpetrated against tens of thousands of children in this country and all over the world. The scale of this particular criminal doing is only now beginning to emerge. The Cloyne Report is about the wholesale abuse and rape of children it should never be entangled with a spat between Mr Enda Kenny our Taoiseach and the Vaticans diplomatic religious core. We will continue to place in the public domain wordings of crimes that do not give comfort to those who committed them. A time now, for the honest truth of what happened, words to describe this are not merely child abuse and child neglect but in this instance the sexual rape of children.
